Vickie and Family Evacuated!

A Couple of Recipes
MICROWAVE PEANUT BRITTLE
From WYNELLE HOLLOWAY
1 cup sugar
½ cup lite Karo
Pinch salt
1 ½ cups raw peanuts
Stir. Put in 8 cup glass measuring bowl.
Cook 4 min at 8 power on your microwave
Stir
Cook 4 min at 8 power on your microwave
Stir
Add 1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon butter
Stir
Cook 2 min at 8 power on your microwave
Add 1 teaspoon baking soda
Stir 30 sec.
Pour onto greased cookie sheet.
Cool and break into pieces.
PRALINES
From Barbara Baker
2 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cook 15 min, or until soft ball stage, then add as many whole pecans as you like.
Cook 15 min more, until hard ball stage.
Remove from heat and add the vanilla
Beat.
Pour by spoonful onto the wax paper.
